Remote key issue.

Hi.
Out in France.
Yesterday I dropped my remote key into the swimming pool by accident (don’t ask!). I dried it out and all worked fine. This afternoon after a long walk got back to the van and opened up - minutes later the remote locks car and then opens it again. This is repeated every minute or so.
Cali is open and the van starts ok.

Is the remote damaged and do I need to do anything - I’m travelling home next Thursday 29/8.

Any tips?

Take the battery out - on another car it worked - ie you could still start it but had to lock with key - just thinking out loud.

If you want a normal working remote, you will have to buy a new key (complete), and it must be coded by VW.

Might be worth trying to dry it out when home - put in a bag of rice for a few days then try battery back in...
