Rubber step mats T6

I purchased the above mats and they are so much more practical than carpet. However they have a strong smell, which hasn’t faded as expected.
Any ideas as to how I can get rid of this, besides removing them?

Hi Maggie. It will eventually fade but you could speed up the process by cleaning them with a ph neutral cleaner and allowing to air dry. Repeat this a couple times and it should help.
I appreciate this involves taking them out, but not much choice other than a clothes peg on the nose whilst waiting!

You‘re right, I should have cleaned them before I put then in! Its been a while since I got them, so will do as you suggest and put them in the sun….assuming there is some.

Unfortunately not, nothing useful anyway, no idea when it might be ready.

Must be so frustrating…..

Jet wash, oil with Silicone spray , repeat.
rubber stinks but will go eventually

Autoglym vinyl and rubber care spray. It masks the rubber smell with something more tolerable.
