My 2015 SE140 must be due to tell me to get it serviced. I am close to a VW dealership who did a software update recently. They would be my first choice for servicing as the nearest California dealer is miles away.

My question is are there any specific service requirements for a California? Thinking of hydraulic roof pump oil, water tanks, pumps, night heater and the gas system etc.which would be best done at a dealership specialising in such matters?

Any thoughts??

As far as I am aware - No.
The Hydraulic Roof is a sealed unit. There is No requirement for a Gas Service except change the rubber hose every 5 years - and if you want one then a Caravan Centre is the best choice. Water tanks/pumps either work or don't and likewise, with the amount of use it gets, the Parking Heater. VW would replace under warranty if not working and not service it. No different to a Caravan Annual check-up.

That's helpful, thank you. Local VW van centre it is, then.

hi
i am also about to have first longline service and had same dilemma use local VW commercial who know nothing about Cali or drive to another 40 mins away to get service done at dealership that does. I opted for the drive and get done by dealership that knows them.....when making the appointment they made sure i knew to clear all personal items out of cupboards etc so that they had ease of access to the whole vehicle. I have also just looked in my service book and for service 1 'gas system inspection' is listed as basic check that's done.....
i think i also had my 'fingers burnt' a little when new and fridge didn't work local VW garage did work/ sorted it and damaged some of the interior- not majorly but still.....and comments made during this time didn't leave me feeling confident they knew the inside of the Cali at all ( which if not a usual dealership why would they?) but did buy it from them.......
