Side awning legs and drive away awning

Hi all,
Sorry for brief question, we are away at the mo and wondering something.

When you have the drive away awning attached to the side awning do you put the side awning legs out? The side awning is only out a few inches

If you use the figure of eight method on the top edge of the awning it doesn't need to be out at all. Puts less strain on the awning arms and gets the drive away tunnel bit higher. Lot easier to reconnect when you come back as well.

You can use awning without legs as long is it only out no more than 500mm.
