I'm at zugspitze resort. Great spot. The lift up the mountain to the glacier is literally over the road. You have to get the same lift back to camp. The showers etc are like 5 star hotel quality and the town of ehrwald is walking distance. Highly recommend.

How extensive is the skiing?

Skiing on the zugspitze is not extensive. 2 days max and you'll be looking for more. There's a couple of good long runs where you can let rip. The snow was great as its high up. I belive there's more over at alpspitze which is a ski bus ride away. But for camping and skiing without having to bus it. The location is great.

Update. The zugspitze was very busy today. Weekend. And a lot of tourists using the cable car to go up in their jeans and take a look. Now that's not normally a problem but.... The 1 lift down to camp is every 20 minutes. And if its full its full. The last one back is 16.40. Aim for the 16.20 if you do it.

Another to recommend is in the French alps ...
camping lescale in le grand bornand.right next to the town pubs restaurants ect... free very short bus ride to the ski lift .
Just spent a week there.... 7years in a row now.

Spotted a navy blue cali on the campsite anyone on here?
