Sleeping arrangements

We have a miniature dachshund puppy. Currently 9 weeks old and doing very well with his crate training for night time sleeping.

Our question is to other crate-trained miniature dog owners- what sleeping arrangements work in your Cali, and do you do anything special to prep your dog for a few nights away, or for their first nights back at home? Our worry would be that if we get it wrong in the Cali, that it’d undo the good work we’ve done for home sleeping.

Any advice on what has or hasn’t worked for you would be hugely appreciated!

Not quite the same, but I bought a small crate that would fit on the kitchen overnight for when my pups were small.
