I have a 2013 California and occasionally when I unlock my van the sliding door won’t open from outside. I have to get into the van through the drivers door, climb into the back and open the sliding door from the inside.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

Had it on our 2012 t5 only on cold days it was fixed at the time under an extended warranty. Electrical part / unit . I can't recall more.

Had same issue with a 65 plate T6, only in cold weather.
Quick temporary fix was a good clean of the electrical contacts although it didn’t stop the issue reoccurring in the cold. I suspect that the temperature affected the battery voltage, though I am guessing.

Ok thank you.

Ok thank you. I haven’t really thought about what the weather has been like at the time but it always seems to happen when I’ve got my hands full and my dog on the lead. Then I have to climb through to the back. I’ll be more observant re weather and give it a clean too.

I’m away in my van this weekend and this morning I couldn’t open my sliding door from the inside. I had to go out the drivers door and open it from the outside. Luckily that worked today. I noticed that the inside handle seems to be stuck in one position and I can’t move it back.
