It's not the rubber seal sticking, it's an adjustment problem. Look at the parts in the pictures on the thread. The part attached to the roof is not adjusted correctly and hits the part you have and sheers it off. Zoom into mine and you can see it's damaged where it was fouling the scissor arm.OK thank you, Given the link you sent, I now wonder if the Diamondbrite I paid for had created extra stiction; I guess it could generate a huge initial resistance on open. Anyway, I will replace the part and try the suggested release agent for the rubber.
Yes defo I have it booked in but it is 45 miles away, will fit a new one first considering that they are only 2 quid. If it happens again then it points to another root cause I guess.Dealer fix under warranty?
I moved the poptop hook back about 1mm, I put some tape on the rail so I could see how much I was moving it from the original position. It will only catch it again, mine was stopping the roof closing on one side someone's.Yes defo I have it booked in but it is 45 miles away, will fit a new one first considering that they are only 2 quid. Wouldn’t do that if I were you - you will invalidate the warranty.Yes defo I have it booked in but it is 45 miles away, will fit a new one first considering that they are only 2 quid. If it happens again then it points to another root cause I guess.
