Standard versus option in SE/Ocean

Little thinking about standard equipment between T5, T5.1 and T6. SE/Ocean. Not Beach and Coast.

As the years go by, things change in automotive world. So is also the standard equipment for California's.
Hereby a little listing for my California Comfortline (SE) from late 2009 (MY 2010). The facelift that is.
Mine was made for Belgium, so things may be different for different countries, but might give a thought about the evolution.

Options on mine:
- metallic paint (Olympia Blue)
- electric retractable (is this the right word?) side mirrors.
- cruise control (not ACC)
- RCD310+DAB (including 8 speakers and aux in)
- climatronic (automatic 3 zone airco, standard was climatic = manual airco)
- privacy glass at the back
- PDC front and back
- black awning
- 2.0 TDI 140HP (not really option, but not the base engine)

Standard:
- mud flaps
- Multivan dashboard
- heated front seats (left and right)
- swivel front seats (L+R)
- plastic steering wheel and gear knob (without SWC)
- cigarette lighter and ashtray
- air heater with remote control
- full size (16") steel spare wheel
- 16" steel wheels with full size wheel covers (215/65 R16C 102/100H)
- H7 headlights (halogen, from the Multivan)
- front fog/cornering lights
- facelift taillights (the barn door vans still had the original T5 taillights)
- grey fabric seats
- lights under the sun screens in the front
- side protection decals in car colour on the outside around the van
- painted rearview mirror caps
- 1,5 liter bottle holder in the dashboard (uncooled)
- cooled glove box
- electrohydraulic pop roof

What did I fit later on:
- fixed towbar
- Android piece of junk with navigation and bluetooth
- 16" Colmar alloys
- daytime running lights (the lights were there but no wires on the light switch and on the headlights)

I think that is about it.

Just wondering what has become standard, and what has become option on those vans?

- mud flaps

These things were not standard in Germany and im glad they weren´t,
well at least the mudflaps.
The spare wheel was an optional extra and as standard the vans came
with a bottle of glue and a compressor.

The only vehicle that looks wrong without mudflaps is the Land Rover Defender.
Show me a pic of a cool looking car with mudflaps.
I really cannot see the point of them.

Just look at my avatar.
The point? Makes the car less dirty (I said less, not not dirty). It holds the stones from between the tyres more to the ground instead of throwing them at the car behind you. They scrape the ground when driving in ditches and road borders, so you know you'd better took another path.
I don't notice them anymore, and it feels like my California wouldn't be mine anymore without them.

And sure I am glad I have the full spare wheel. Comes in more handy than that bottle.
The first tyre change only took me 1 new tyre. I changed the first left tyre to the spare wheel, and put the spare tyre on the left wheel, and the new tyre on the right wheel.
