Staying the night at UK motorway service stations

Thought a thread on uk motorway service stations from the point of view of stopovers may be useful ...

we had a super night at Tebay North on the M6 - there were some quiet spots away from road noise and street lights. £18 with the bonus of the good facilities there

an acceptable night at Abington (M74) - some road noise but ok. £15

by passed Cairn Lodge (M74) as right next to motorway

although less attractive than a nice campsite benefits are the lack of fuss (e.g. no need to book or find out whether facilities open) and no need to detour.

T Bay is excellent especially if you go past the hotel to park. Pitty they closed their caravan site a couple of years ago.
