T4 1995 Jap-import on eBay (not a Cali)

There's a shop near me where the guy has run a succession of (rusty) T4 window vans, currently a white one that reminds me of this beaut on eBay. Personal import from Japan, four-speed auto petrol & rust free. EDIT: should've mentioned he wants £7.5K

If I had the space / time / money I'd grab his hand off ... I had the same Merc wheels on my old E280 estate.

And it's petrol, no more worries about diesel bashing.
We imported a 2001 Mazda Bongo about seven years ago and it was like new even though it had about 65k on it.
Apparantly the Japanese equivalent of the MOT is far stricter than ours and they don't use salt on the roads.

Indeed - I love looking at 'time capsule' imports from Japan, most of them you could eat your dinner off the underside & they're not necessarily 'under used' and have done sensible mileages to keep things ticking along. I could definitely go a Mitsubishi Delica under those circumstances

When I had my W124 Merc the indie garage I used to go to in Weybridge lent me an E-class saloon that had been owned by the Japanese embassy in London, taken home to Japan, and then reimported (!) It was immaculate & probably worth a fraction of a modern boring box.
