T4 Fridge issue.

Hello,
We have been out for about 8 weeks and last night the fridge started acting up. It turns on for about twenty seconds then shuts down and restarts ad infinitum. It's not cooling like it should and there is a high pitched faint beep as it shuts off. Any help on tests to diagnose would be greatly appreciated.
Time to go buy a cooler

Just some more info. The van is a t4 california coach 1994 fitted with the original fridge that vents under the van. It has a good leisure battery and is plugged in to 230. Showing 14.1 volts. Also it had the 6 button control module above the dash.
