Hi all,
The camping control unit in my T5 California SE has finally packed it in – flickering screen, frozen menus, and the odd 3am beep just to keep me on edge. A specialist’s confirmed it’s dead and needs replacing, but he had no idea where to get one. So, before I turn the van into a mobile tent, does anyone know where I can source a new unit (ideally not at gold bullion prices), or get the current one refurbished?
Any help much appreciated – I’d like my lights and fridge back before I end up cooking by candlelight.

Cheers

Hi, we can probably diagnose and fix this. It sounds similar to an issue we have seen before.

Thanks,
Ed

Hi. Replying to this as it's the most recent response on the camping control units I have found. Do you have any recommendations on what to do with a T6 camping control unit that seems to have power but nothing shows on the display? The buttons light up with red and the display has backlight on, but nothing else displays. I've checked all the fuses under the seat and behind drink-holder compartment and all seem good. I've also taken out the unit and checked if it's getting power through the 32 pin connector, it gets 12v. I attempted to do the reset (holding down bottom R button and control knob), the display seems to turn off then on again, but again no graphics on the display... Any ideas how to proceed? I'd love to send the unit to you, but I'm not based in UK.

I'm not sure what I would suggest for this unit. It might be an issue with the display. Does the control panel still appear to be alive? If it behaves like normal but the display is dead that would lead me to think the display needs to be examined.

Thanks,
Ed

So, yesterday the display came back to life and the unit operated just fine. It was responsive, the display was bright and no lines and all the buttons worked. Today, the display is back to backlight-only. The buttons seem to work, at least the on/off and control buttons turn the backlight on and off.
Thanks for info
