I was called today by my agent saying, that production was stopped due to the external electric hook up is no longer being fitted.

I was asked if I still wanted to go ahead with my order.
I ordered September 2016, when the hook up was standard on the T6.

Hope they are giving a discount to match the lack of capability!

How much would I have to pay to get it retro fitted? I am not happy.

Unbelievable!

What next? No beds?

I will be seriously aggrieved if that is the case - I've just ordered two hook up cables and two plug adaptors for my Beach ordered April 2016 and soon to be delivered.

Or no roof? That would solve the corrosion issue.
That wouldn't surprise me, I suspect the deletion of the hook up may be due to some rule or regulation ....

It may just be on Euro vans, and since Brexit "we" will be ok....

well I hope so for you with a Beach on order

Don't forget there are different Country Options included as standard.

I would think as it was available at time of ordering it is VWs problem. If you've paid anything then surely there is a contract and that is a breach?

That's not how it has worked out on our order, although I see your logic! We just had an email from the dealer stating "XYZ option has now been removed, you won't be charged". I would be apoplectic if I'd ordered a Beach and it came without an EHU...

In germany, austria, etc it is not standard with external hookup. I had to pay 720€ for it at order time.
Are you sure you can't add it as a factory option?

Yes 720 euro was about the price on the T5 beach. I did order that option. But I've only used it once in 2 years and so I would not order it again. You can just buy a cable and run it through the sliding window in summer; for winter you can buy one of those under the engine cap connectors to hook up there. A lot cheaper.

Depends on your style of travel of course.. but we seem to drive enough to make sure our leisure battery never depletes... even with fridge and 3 tablets, phones and use of lights. Same reason I'm not going solar.
Might be different if you want to stay a week in one place...

On the UK Cali configurator today.......for a Beach....

Well, the option does make more. I am using the heater every day now in wintertime and it is remarkable how much it takes power from the leisure battery so I connect my Cali several times a week when it is parked at home.

If this is true, is it being downgraded to an option or is it to be deleted altogether?
If so I wonder if this has anything to do with the T6 battery management recall?

I think that Gavinskii and WelshGas are most probably correct: it doesn't effect Beaches for the UK market.

I hope you are right. However as the OP posted yesterday this is current news. Therefore the July 2016 brochure may no longer be current.

Out of interest, what was the "XYZ" option?

I hope you are right. However as the OP posted yesterday this is current news. Therefore the July 2016 brochure may no longer be current.
The November 2016 brochure has this nasty news:

Additional standard equipment for the California Coast.
Exterior
– Aluminium elevating roof with canvas sides in Alpine Grey, manual operation
– Exterior mirror housing and attachment parts, unpainted
– H7 halogen headlights
– Radiator grille with chrome trim, unpainted
– “Coast” logo
– Single glazed windows in passenger compartment
– 230 V external socket for charging batteries
The implication is obvious. But as the UK doesn't do the Coast, I don't suppose the brochure is intended for the UK.

Oops! Pilot error, lets try again.

The OP is in Germany.
Quite possibly but how can you be sure that this will not filter down to UK orders?
At present the reasons for this change in spec aren't clear.
If your van hasn't already been built it might be worth a call to your dealer. If it has there's no point in worrying.

Errr, extra key (non-folding) and 2 x USB if I remember rightly. 2 x USB has since reappeared on the configurator, so no idea what she will actually turn up with!
