Does the fridge in the Ocean models struggle at high ambient temperatures, I am told this is a thermoelectric
unit is this correct ?

I sell portable compressor fridge/freezers and would never recommend a thermoelectric unit due to high power consumption and ability to work at high ambient temperatures.

Pretty sure it's a compressor fridge and believe it goes cold enough to freeze things, so should be ok

we are just back from 2 weeks on the south coast of france where the temperature was around 30 degrees the whole time , and the fridge side of the van was in the sun most of the day , the fridge was on 6 the whole time and was still freezing the milk !

Compressor Fridge. No problems in Italy with temperatures in excess of 36c.
