Tom,

Any confirmation of the standard spec and price??
I will need to confirm this in the morning on the system of the standard spec and price I know there will be two different variants one with the kitchenette and one without, the one with will come under a motor home and benefit from cheaper tax. This only got released this afternoon to the dealer network.

o_O Seriously... :upsidedown:pinkbanana

Kick off is North of 50k lol

Very interested in this as planning to get a Beach next year.

So I now have the option to buy new and perhaps also some pressure on current used prices, which remains an option.

The price difference between Tour and Camper appears small. I would prefer no kitchen pod but wonder if this is easily removable and so potentially ‘unlock’ cheaper VED? Actually doesn’t it fold away quite neatly anyway IIRC?

Either way, lots more options as a result of this announcement and so happy that the Beach is back.

So I want twin doors and a double bench (so I can put a large dog crate (2up 2 down) at the back but use escape hatches and a sliding door on passenger side (UK). Will this be possible?

So at 53k it’s about 6 grand more than the previous Beach but you do get 17” alloys and either a kitchen pod or an additional sliding side door.

I’m looking forward to finding out the full standard spec but I doubt that won’t be revealed for another few weeks yet.

Can’t really see it selling much at that price point. That puts it similar price to a Coast which comes with way more kit...

Depends on the standard spec but I suspect the Beach will always sell well as it is a different proposition to the Coast.

Personally, with 3 kids and not using it to camp in massively , the Beach has always been the one to fit my needs more and I never been overly bothered about having a kitchen.

Ours is mainly just an extremely versatile family car, that we’ve also been able to use for our summer holidays to France each year.

Im not surprized its back but back with a kitchen I cant see how it differs from the Coast !?!

The whole Beach v Ocean / Coast discussion starts all over again, so far without usual digs about affordability....no doubt they will come.

Everyone has different needs; We have previously had 3 VW conversions, but found that the Beach suits our current needs best. Main differences between the Coast:

- Bigger bed downstairs
- Ability to carry seven
- Decent amount of storage space under the MFB.
- Excellent for shifting big loads, as able to load full wid(we managed 6x1cbm bags of hedge clippings in one tip trip)
- Rear seats are more shaped in a 3 seat bench so comfortable for passengers on longer runs.
- More durable interior. No tambour doors & fiddly fragile bits to worry about.

If we ever needed a full kitchen etc again, then would most likely get a Hymer Grand Canyon, as offers more useable space without the need to shift so many things around But would keep the Beach as 2nd vehicle.

Yes agree its far more versatile for family life so not surprised its back just wondering about the 3 option market!

They just need to put the kitchen in one of the twin sliding doors on the Tour to solve the VED issue. There is probably a good reason why they can’t do this...but would be good!

The Beach is back? Who’d have thought it? Dropping a model that appeared from our survey to be accounting for 44% of sales (by volume) and introducing a new model that just split the sales of the other 56% was sure to be a winner. Never mind, I guess the architect of that plan got promoted.

SMG told me that the Beach did account for 35% of their California sales. At least VW eventually listened!
