There's something lurking in the battery box!

IMG_0169.JPG As my leisure battery is original equipment, factory fitted in 2002, I thought I should gather the details to make ordering a new one (which must surely be inevitable in the near future), a much easier task.

Having removed the cover panel I discovered a lead with a 'plug' of some description just hanging about behind the battery. I had a look around the compartment, but could see no obvious place for this to be reunited with any kind of socket. Everything works in the vehicle, except the fresh water level indicator, which seems to be a common problem more associated with the sender in the tank I believe.

Can anybody provide some idea of what the lead might be (or where it's coming from) and where it should going?

It's your "messwiderstand". N162.

It's a measuring device for battery charge control.

Dan will give you a better description.

Actually I think that's the temperature sensor for the charger.

There should be a clip for it somewhere on the roof of the battery compartment.

Thanks chaps...that seems to have cleared that up.
