Things that have failed in 2yrs

4.5 years 50k miles - rear brake light lens x2 replaced by me. 3rd time replaced by dealer as part of a recall when in for a service.

No sign of roof corrosion either, I am somewhat reluctant to "upgrade" to a new one despite lusting after the split worktop & additional interior lights when theres nothing wrong with this one.

Cali Beach - Thirty months from new with 24500 Miles.

Faults to date:
1. Broken plastic camping chair joint.
2. Sticky cushion blocks in the awning rail keep falling off.
3. Centre cap on rear O/S alloy wheel delaminated.

I think you'll agree, all major stuff.

Completely agree, if you get a "good" one why invite trouble by changing. Some people do seem to be unlucky with the amount of problems they get.

might also be worth checking with them that the brake fluid is still up to scratch (overheating calipers can boil brake fluid) and the grease in the wheel bearing (overheating brake disks can liquidise grease in the wheel bearings) - had plenty of experience with this king of thing in older VWs so its worth looking out for and asking the question with them. :thumb
Great advice, thanks. I want to check today that they are checking under the seal for roof corrosion.
Still have a year of warranty!

Cali Beach 2 yr old-18k miles:
Faults to date under warranty:
1.water pump stopped working-replaced
2.cooling fans (2 separate occasions & 2 different ones) replaced
3. Heated seats failed on 2 occasions-fixed
4. EHU ? fuse blown on recent trip NC500-need to book in at garage to check if this is the case
Still enjoying the ride!

1. Tap replaced (went floppy).
2. Rear tambour door.

Sorry I can't report anything more original...

T5 Cali 180 DSG 4Mo 3.5years 24k miles - rear tambour door (which seems to be a common fault - new one now reinforced with gaffer tape just in case)

Y1 and Y3 Tap replaced - suspected as micro switch
Electrical fault resulting in side light bulbs popping - headlight replaced
Awning leg locking mech broke - awning replaced
Near side rear passenger sliding window difficult to close and mech eventually broke - window repaired as an interim and window due for replacement soon
The only fault to report on July 2016 Ocean 150 DSG was the awning split at the seam. Now replaced with a seamless one. New 205 4motion no faults in 2 months.

13 plate SE 36000 miles currently
Exploded fridge lid (refused warranty) had to pay
Exploded tailgate glass (refused warranty, refused insurance) had to pay
Sticking kitchen cupoard (fixed by SMG)
Happy days.....loads.

2016 Ocean, 13000 Miles...

1. Tailgate high visbrake light delaminated, replaced under warranty..
2. Awning seam split in warm weather, replaced with new under Warranty.
The new awning is in one sheet, the old one was in two parts, laminated together, that’s why it split!!!
3. Paint issue (blistering) just under awning fixing rail... I have had three visits, including a specialist from Bristol who arrived at my home address with what looked like a surgeons kit!! He spent a good 20 minutes checking the paint on the whole vehicle and then declared it would be a warranty fix.. this has been going on for 6 months..
4. Rubber seal around the roof keeps dropping down (on order).
5. Now on holiday in Croatia and roof fails to close correctly, seemed to be catching on awning bracket at the front... it has since reseated and seems to be ok ?? Checked the scissor jacks and noticed the rear roof fixing points had a screw missing on both sides (can’t be right)?

So a visit to my dealer when I get home.. all of the above are within two years... apart from the paint work issue all problems have been dealt with!

Any roof observations would be appreciated as I am on the road...Croatia is stunning by the way

Guess I must be lucky!! Just passed 3 years old - no faults! (Why do I think I'm going to regret saying that?) :(

My Calli has that to. I’ve seen others to. Maybe they all have missing screws here? Haven’t thought about it in a while until today...
