Did you use this on a California with a fixed tow bar? I am interested in it but concerned about the tailgate opening as I’ve read conflicting comments on whether it has enough clearance to open or not.

Hi, no idea if it's works on a California sorry. I have used it on a Passat but no longer need as have bike rack on tailgate of California. Sorry can't be more helpful. Ed
