Time for a smaller table

I’ve been itching to get a smaller table. The problem is, the metal bracket on the table is not only screwed on, but glued - making transplanting it to a new table a risky proposition.
Frustratingly the rear-door camping table (a straight California donor part) fits in the bracket, but is a little short of leg and not a great size. However - I’m thinking it can help out. A plan is coming together ...

My new temporary table; lockdown means I cannot find a nice piece of wood, just an old shelf.
The concept is good though; leg from the original table, bracket donated from the rear door table.
A much better size, though I may go a little bigger than this. Maybe with folding flaps53387688-85AD-4BC5-9271-8D8ED3547B05.jpeg

And it fits in the cupboard, with the opportunity to make the final version of the table a bit bigger

And concluding, for now, this project. Now for living with it for a while. It’s small enough to not get in the way, and I like how I can move it over the bench seat and the leg does not obstruct the isle. And if I want it gone, it fits in the cupboard (of my 680)

Where did you find the plastic parts? I haev quite a few of the supports but didnt know you could get the plastic brackets?

Thanks for your question. The plastic brackets are transplanted from the rear-door table. It’s obviously the same table as provided on the standard California, and has the brackets fitted which serve no purpose on a GC. Took seconds to drill out the rivets and liberate them.
You say you have lots of the ‘supports’ - what part do you mean by this.

In fact, see my first picture which shows them. The leg is from the original dining table.

I was planning to make a smaller/slimmer table myself (already got some materials) when I found this new product:

I think it looks great and comes with all the things to store/secure it properly beside the sofa. Ordered one!

I bought another OEM table and took it to a joinery works and had it cut down in length, 6” then re edged it now is easy to get around the cockpit. The joinery works will need a banding machine to make a good job of the edges. On reflection i might have reduced the with too.
