T6 Ocean 150
Our t6 Ocean came with standard Davonport Alloy’s wearing 215/60/17 (109 load rated) I have a set of van rated alloy’s (used on my T5) with winter tyres which should do this coming winter. These have 235/55/17 (103 load rated). This size tyre is listed on on my door pillar as well as my original tyre size.

A couple questions for those who have more knowledge than myself.
  • Will my winter alloy wheels with 235/55/17 (103) be ok on my T6.
  • When it comes to replacement of my 215/60/17 tyres will 235/55/17 be ok on the supplied Devenport Alloy’s.
thanks for any advise.

Regarding replacement tyres

215x60%=129 sidewall
235x55%=129 sidewall
Rim size remains 17" so rolling circumference is unchanged.

What rim width do you have, 7" or 7.5"?
May be worth checking they can accommodate the 235 width.

Regarding your existing winter rims I would guess it depends on brake/caliper size/clearance.

Yes.
17" VW T5/6 wheels can be fitted to All engine sizes with or without the larger brake callipers as found on the T5.1 180 and the T6 204.
Minimum Load rating is 103 and Minimum Speed rating is H for the California.

Thanks WG Thought as much wanted another opinion interesting our 2012 180 came with 101 load ratings when new

The Tyre label on my 2014 states 103 and speed rating H, it came with 103 and W rated tyres.

As stated previously, drop down a notch on your load rating and gain a reduction in dB level.

Mine are 235/55/17 103 V for a 204x4 Ocean

I was planning on shodding 215/60/17 on steels but may change to Michelin Crossclimate or Goodyear Cargo Vector Gen 2 both all season.
