Vw stereo wiring

We have just up graded our stereo in our Cali to a DAB/ Bluetooth one. We’ve wired it in, it works except for the microphone for the handsfree. We’ve checked that we have microphones in the control panel unit which we do. They are wired in and we have attached the other end to the back of the stereo but it’s not working. Does anyone know if there is a magic button to press to activate the microphone? Or a fuse to trigger etc?? Thank you!!

With the factory fitted RNS 510 there’s a star button (top right) next tocd slot or a mic button on the MFSW steering wheel to select the handsfree.

What unit did you upgrade to, is it a VW or aftermarket one?

Who fitted it?

If it's an aftermarket stereo it would have come with an aftermarket microphone, which you'd need to wire up. The original VW ones don't work with the aftermarket stereo.
