Dear all photographers, can you help?
I am looking for some high resolution photos that could be suitable for use in promoting this forum and any associated events. Suitable acknowledgements would be attributed.
Requirements?
Orientation - Landscape and Portrait
Theme - Obviously Cali related/Scenic/Dramatic/Moody
Format - jpeg/gif/vector (preferably not eps)
Resolution - not sure but images could be needed to be up to 2m in height with good clarity.
To give you a flavour our first project could look something like this but don't be constrained by this idea.
All contributions welcome. Either post thoughts/thumbnails here or pm me.

I'll enjoy trying. Is there a time frame and what resolution are you looking for?
I managed some decent shots of my last car even with (yes I know how it sounds) an iPhone and about 6mb but have a digital SLR too. Look forward to going back to similar places with the California.
All that said I know there are some pro's and serious hobby snappers on this forum.
But this is the sort of thing...

Thanks for the samples. Looking forward to seeing some scenic photos of your Cali Beach travels.

Taken with my phone not sure if the quality will be what you require.

Little tip for car photography for anyone who wants to try it, best time to shoot vehicles is around sunset (and sunrise), the lighting at these times will really enhance the image and make your Cali look extra awesome. :)

Hour before and upto an hour after :)

Also put your lights on and set your flashers. Gives that little bit more.

Some great pics here

I think pictures uploaded here gets converted to reduce size and quality is lost. I guess if you want highest possible resolution it is necessary to transfer via email for instance. Maybe using wetransfer.com if files are big …

Hi J’wocky,

Although this is an old post, you may want photos in the future so here’s my thoughts:

1/ You will require a balance between a large print size and high resolution, so these files will have a high file size (you can’t get round that). Large, high resolution files are difficult to send via email. Contributors may need to share via cloud storage (Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive, etc) or via a usb stick or memory card. You won’t be able to share via the forums because, as someone above posted, the website resamples (reduces) the uploads so they are smaller in file size and quality (several reasons that I won’t go into here).

2/ Later, when I have time, I’ll work out the range of resolution that would be appropriate/acceptable.

I know a bit about this sort of thing so happy to help anyone who has questions.
