Wardrobe exterior surface damage - how to repair?

I have damaged the veneer on the wardrobe - the fold down mattress popped out of its pivot point and the lock device scratched wardrobe as I lowed it down!!!

Any thoughts on how this could be repaired?

That is going to be difficult. If it was a small scratch then you might have been able to paint in using enamel paints and artist brushes, but that size would be difficult to disguise.
Why not just a plate between the doors and sprayed to match the doors. Just a design feature.

I agree. There is a thread somewhere on the forum from someone who was doing just that but as a DIY job. He/She was using some vinyl that has a very similar to the finish on the latest Ocean models. It looked OK.
Sorry I haven't been able to find the thread so far.
