Water tap on T5 California

The tap no longer fires up the pump. I have checked the fuse is Ok. When I lift the tap there is a faint click.

If I want to take the tap apart and clean up the micro-switch, how do I get the tap off safely?

If it tap clicks I would check the pump first they do stick.

Dealer replaced the water pump and all fine now. Thank you.

Seems like many new Cali's need to have a new fresh waterpump within the first year(s)
Mine was also replaced still under warranty , 1st year
How old is yours....?

Hi our T5 Cali, is about 6 years old. 2 Years ago the water tap for the sink stopped working. Bought a new Tap from https://vwcaliforniaclub.com/shop/product/replacement-tap-for-vw-california and it worked well for 2 years but has stopped working again. If I apply 12v to Pump it works. The Tap switch when off has infinite ohms, but when in the on has 150ohms.

Tap stopped working again .. pleased I had put in an electronic bypass switch to allow the water to still flow.

remove the wire fitting .. then add in my bypass switch . Then hey presto tap works … via a hifpdden switch .. enough to get it working while I order a new tap
