First of all my apologies for infiltrating the the VW California club under somewhat false pretences!

I found a link to this forum whilst researching Web/Eber heaters.
Does anyone know if Advance Specialised Products In Manchester is still trading, as their website is down?

I’ve hit a brick wall with my plan to invest in a Webasto heater. This is mainly because I have a T4 Multivan. It’s layout, both inside and underneath the van, has put a spanner in the works.
I took it to a Webasto supplier/fitter to see what my options were and I was gutted to find out I couldn’t have it fitted under either of the front seats because the two seats in the back, clip onto the base of these seats and my fuel tank runs from side to side of the van and is under the both the passenger and driver’s seat.
He said my only option was to have on the floor behind the passenger seat, which isn’t ideal for me.
I’d really set my heart on one after struggling this winter on the overnights I spent in the van. This wasn't because I was unable to keep warm, (I have hot water bottles and a sleeping bag that wouldn’t be out of place at an Everest base camp), but because of the breathing in of the very cold air throughout the night. I have respiratory problems and this really does seem to exacerbate things.

A night heater would really be the perfect solution for me.

Im going to see if I can contact Advance Specialised Products tomorrow but any personal advice or suggestions would be gratefully received.

If its a lhd multivan, it should be possible as some had heaters fitted from the factory.

Thanks for giving me some hope...although mine is a RHD and the guy was genuinely suprised when he saw where the fuel tank was.
I might even try and get hold of someone at VW.

It’s a package about the size of a shoe box. Put it anywhere under the van, run a bit of ducting, done. What am I missing?

Is yours a multivan or caravelle?

Intrigued to know about the seating layout. Has your multivan got any of the vents (circled) in the floor behind the driver and passenger seats?

According to the following
http://www.oemepc.com/vw/main_group...tgruppen/1234567890/drive_standart/230/lang/e
The 2002 Multivan had the option of a Diesel Parking Heater. See Body section.
But if you look under the Fuel section the fuel tank shown doesn’t seem to be the same as you appear to have.

If that's a RHD T4 then I think the heater outlet circled is from the heater fed from the engine coolant circuit.

The parking heater outlet is very similar but on the left side. The actual heater (factory fitted) is below the floor behind the left front seat. On a RHD T4 the heating air inlet is in the sliding door step.
