There was an earlier thread which was linked to an article in the news today around an increase in eating disorders in the UK.

The thread got off track and has been deleted, but hopefully can be revived for those who are looking for motivation to get out and lose the lockdown pounds.

But back on the subject of eating disorders, I have volunteered with a local group and spoken to many parents / sufferers over the years. Eating disorders are a mental health issue. Not a dietary one. They need to be treated as such. It is not as simple as calories consumed and calories burnt.

Christmas is usually the worst time of year for sufferers and their families. This last year will have exacerbated any issues.
If anyone on here, or their family are affected by an eating disorder please get in touch with BEAT (in the UK) who have advice on their website but can also advise you of your local support group. These are non judgemental groups who are there to offer support from people who have experienced eating disorders as sufferers or carers (family members / friends).

Take care of yourselves and others. Thank you.
