Got a bit confused to start as this is clearly on the left hand side B Pillar. But presumably you are left hand drive. It moves with the steering wheel in the UK

Don't lock the car with the remote when you go to sleep. The doors cannot be opened from inside when locked with the remote and could be dangerous if you need to evecuate in a hurry. Lock the doors using the button on the driver's door when someone is inside the Cali. And the alarm doesn't activate either when you do that.

I use this button to disable the alarm when on the ferry. It, I believe stops the alarm activating from the roll of the ship.

Handbook not clear is the alarm disabled when illuminated or not?
