Where is the best VW garage for a service

Happy New Year everyone,
I was wondering which VW garage people are really pleased with when it comes to service work?
Ideally, this would be in the South East although I don't mind a drive and can also see family in or around Lincolnshire, or Scotland.
I fancy trying SMG and wonder who has had an experience with these people?

Robin, hope all well. we take ours to Breeze Poole. Very happy with all their work so far and they have taken good care of the van and all its needs. With Poole, you can make a day out of a journey there. The other Breeze in SO is also good, though never used them, but a bit closer so planning on taking the van to them for its next service.

SMG also gets good reviews on here so really should not go wrong on anything with them as well.

Hi, SMG Tonbridge have always been great for us. Jay is always very knowledgeable with good communication throughout.

Over the years, we've had both good and bad experience from SMG Tonbridge, SMG Cowfold, and Breeze in Poole.
One thing I would say, is be very vigilant, and check the vehicle, and any work that has been done when collecting the vehicle. This is referring to having warranty issues sorted.
Geographically obviously SMG Tonbridge is your nearest, and probably your best option.

Great to hear from you, Yes I've actually been to Breeze in Poole once, I was staying with another caliclub member who went with me in their Cali on the last Northern Lights trip before the last one we met on, only went there as it was his local garage and to get a broken mirror replaced, after mine was clipped by a passing van , but the little contact I had was very good I recall.

Thank you, yes I had read that the service varies at SMG, although seems largely good. Isn't it a shame that these days we have to be vigilant about so many things :-(

Sadly no, I have to take Kevin to a dealer in Portsmouth that so far makes the worst VW dealer look good

To be fair, they have only been asked to do one job, getting me a spare key fob. However when it arrived it didn't fit because someone had ordered the wrong code number so a wasted trip to Portsmouth. They are also a DAF main agent so to get to the motorhome service area you have to negotiate what looks like an overcrowded motorway truck stop.

Hi Nibor, I use Beadles commercial in Dartford for servicing. They are not a Cali specialist, so possibly wouldn’t put it in for a Cali specific issue, but I have had no complaints over the servicing they have carried out for me.

I used SMG Cowfold for the past 6 years but the last visit was rubbish - not sure if they've changed ownership but they've gone from hero to zero in the last year. I've been living with the sagging roof issue but can't any more as it's now sagging after about 90 minutes and the roof lights etc cut out. would love to get it sorted under warranty with a dealership who is actually interested and am prepared to travel a little bit for that.
