Why are there so many already Sold Calis in the "For Sale", don't that mean they are not?

Can anyone tell me why so many of the "ForSale" listings are "SOLD" or "DEPOSIT TAKEN"? Surely at that point they are no longer for sale and just "noise" in the section.
Perhaps there should be a "recent sales" section so people can see current values, although unless it tells the reader what it actually sold for as opposed to what the asking price was, that's not really a good guide either.

Serious , i don't know if adverts can be taken down by the advertiser when sold ?
Maybe it can be that people mark SOLD and keep the add until the deal is done (payed and taken) ?
Don't know exactly how it works , maybe @calikev or @Martin can explain if or not sold adverts are suppose to be taken down.
Looking at them just now i see indeed some sold .
Maybe also good to date the advert when it's posted so one can see how long the add has been online . Or is this allready and i'm missing something...
