Sitting in your Cali in the dark after sunset at 4pm can be a bit sad.
Can anyone suggest any campsites in Midlands or Peak District that are open over the winter with a pub or restaurant in walking distance please?

I´m not sure where you draw the line for
the midlands, but
The Swan at Hanley Swan near malvern is
a cracking pub with 2 club sites nearby.

Hardhurst Farm Camping & Caravan Site, Hope Valley S33 6RB
Traveller's Rest pub is right next door

Castleton Caravan Club site. 10 minutes walk from Castleton with loads of pubs and cafes, and great walks on the doorstep.

Many thanks for all those suggestions. Plenty to go on!

The Castleton CMC site is the one we haven't tried yet in the area - it has been booked up on the weekends I looked this autumn for a last minute trip.

We've stayed at The Royal Oak at Hurdlow (www.peakpub.co.uk) and can highly recommend it. Facilities are clean, the pub itself is dog friendly and the food is amazing! It's one that we are definitely going to head back to again.

We regularly visit the C&MHC site at Chatsworth and walk down the road to the pubs and restaurants in Baslow. The site is popular and regularly fully booked up to the last minute when people seem to change their minds and spaces become available. It’s worth the time to keep checking.

We also visit the sites at Blackmore, Worcester (CC and C&MHC are next to each other) and go to The Swan at Henley Swan. You do need to book there at a weekend as the pub is very popular and you may not get a table. The food is really good, they claim to be the number one gastropub in Worcestershire.
