Wiring to interior roof console

I'm looking to retrofit ambient lighting diodes into the roof console and trying to find the feed that illuminates the buttons themselves. Any ideas anyone?

The main centre roof console in the driving compartment that operates the interior lights, map reading lights etc.

This is what I'm looking at. The diodes in my hand are the interior absent lighting diodes from an Audi A6. I've retrofitted ambient lighting like this before in previous cars. All you need to do is to hook it up the the power cable that feeds the illumination to the buttons. But as the buttons are surface mount PCB buttons it's difficult to trace without dismantling the buttons.

I'm hoping that someone will help as it's a very cheap retrofit (£11) that gives you the low level red ambient lighting that you get in most modern VAG vehicles
