I have these ‘All season’ tyres on my van. They have the M+S and 3PMSF markings. They have been great until I got to North Norway.
They do not work in Norway in Winter. They were so bad on the untreated icy snowy hills I had to change them, as there was a serious risk of sliding backwards down hills after losing traction. The traction control just saved me in time. The tyre fitter looked at them and said he doesn’t understand how all season tyres get approved, although they are legal here.
I replaced the front (driven) tyres with Nokian R3 Scandinavian winter tyres and it’s seriously like driving a different van. It feels totally sure footed on the snow and ice. Apparently Nokian specialise in winter tyres.
Very few 4WD around. Most just seem to drive normal cars with good tyres. Some of them have Nordic studded tyres fitted, but many don’t. Even RWD BMWs can drive up the solid ice road surface mountain passes. They are very big on Tesla’s here loads of them around and loads of super chargers around too.
