They look quite at home in their cosy kennel! What a life! :)

BTW is that a Quechua MSH blow up tent? We just received one today and have been playing with it in the back garden. Looks like you have some flooring in there as well, how do you carry all that stuff & 4 dogs?

Hi motacyclist,
Actually it's not the MSH but just the Base Seconds pop-up shelter. It was the first time I had used it and it was incredibly easy to put (or rather open and peg!) up by myself and was perfect for what I needed - a simple space to store the boxes from the boot of the Cali and to allow the dogs a little extra space for eating etc. without them just being pegged outside on the grass (one is nervous of strange dogs approaching so likes a 'safe' place). I did miss the Motordome tunnel when it poured one morning though and I got wet feet stepping between the Cali and the Quechua in the morning - I need to invest in some sort of little step to keep my feet off the grass. The flooring is Kampa Easylock floor tiles which are very comfortable underfoot and weigh almost nothing. As for the dogs, only two were in with me and the other two stayed in my parents' caravan 'next door'. Having said that, they did all travel to the beach etc. in Ariadne; they all love being camper dogs!
Here are my two, Maud and Hermione, people-watching whilst waiting for the rain to stop!

Hi Maud cheers for the info, not that clued up the different types of shelter, I got the MSH from a tip on a recent thread on here and have written a few paragraphs about it on there.

Your two look very interested in something there, sure they're not cat watching? :D

Three great big people and two Labradors in a Cali is a bit squashy but definitely can be done :) We're looking forward to trying it again!

Great picture John
I'm sure it doesn't apply to you John, but if there's any truth in the saying owners look like there dogs, then George and I would have got on famously :D

Hello all, I've found the calidog club ! I am a wannabe Cali SE owner .... But not got one yet. I have arranged to hire one in October half term to see if it is realistic for us to all fit in ! We have 16 and 14 year old teens and 2 mongrels (border collie/lab/pointer/ who knows what else !). So my question really is : if the downstairs bed is down where would the dogs sleep ? Is there any floor space left ? Do you think there will be space ? They are border collie size and don't sleep together at home, but do bundle in together in the back of the car. (They also like to sit up front when we're not looking !). In a few years the kids probably won't want to come with us any more, so there will be more room. None of our local dealers seem to have any stock I can go and have a look at so I'm just guessing at the moment. Thanks in advance

Some of the members use the small inflatable tents for sleeping quarters for there pets
Google "Quechua tents"

My dog sleeps either between the driver and passenger seat or in the foot wells in front of front seats , or there is a small area in front of downstairs beds , you'll be fine !!!

Thanks Alan, I had visions of the dogs floating away in a flood on their inflatable tent/raft !

Thanks Tracy, I think it will be cosy ....

Our 2 sleep either on the driver and passenger seats or in the foot wells before sneaking onto the bed in the early hours xxx

I hadn't thought of the 2 front seats ! The dogs aren't allowed on any furniture in our house, but they seem to think it doesn't count as being on the sofa as long a 1 paw is still just about on the floor and they are sitting on top of a teenager , it seems teenagers make quite good sofa cushions ! Bet the dogs will sneak onto the Cali bed given the chance. I bags the upstairs bed !

I'm a real meanie and don't allow my dogs on the seats, taught her to wait and have her feet wiped before getting in so to keep van in a decent state !! she's white but on the walks we do she very quickly turns into having black legs lol towel always at the ready !!!!
