Parking sensors in the winter

The "beep beep" close-up sensors on my gorgeous old 2008 Cali have been failing recently. I read somewhere that ice on the exterior sensors can affect their efficiency, but this is the first time it's happened in 14 years. Is this just an extreme in our weather, or do you think my sensor might have a problem?

Hi yes I have had ice make bleeper go off , water ran down then froze again across sensor setting them off.

Had issues yesterday morning -5 red light on 2 rear as soon as put into R. The 2 in question iced over. 1st time had an issue. Sprayed decicer on them which resolved issue.
