We’ve had ‘Colin’ for over 9 years now and maintained money no object. The previous owner was military logistics who was fastidious and had it from conversion in 2008. The van has been excellent and never let us down once!!! It has been across Europe and down to Naples and back without missing a beat. The engine is the excellent 1.9tdi mated to 5 speed manual box and has covered 84k faultless miles. The original 84 hp felt sluggish, and if I’m honest scary entering motorways, so I had it professionally mapped to 115 hp which gave the extra torque needed, with no cost to insurance. It’ll now cruise all day on motorways and has a range in region of 700miles on tank of diesel. A compact vehicle that drives very car like. Leisuredrive have been making campervans for 50 years now and set the original layout most converters now use. A new converted van from them will cost in region of £75k now.

We cannot fault the vehicle and have enjoyed many holidays in it but funds now allow us to upgrade to a nearly new VW California, otherwise Colin would be staying with us. The new owner will not be disappointed and at just over 82k miles there’s thousand of miles left in it.

Important note: this is registered with DVLA as a motor caravan and therefore cheaper to insure with no reduced speed restrictions i.e. can be driven at same speeds as family car.
