6.1 Ocean 4 Motion - £10k extras - VW warranty
6.1 Ocean 4 Motion - £10k extras - VW warranty
California 6.1 with virtually all the extras available, serviced yearly by VW and still covered by VW warranty until July which can extended.
We are the 2nd owners, we bought it directly from the 1st owner who'd bought it on a bit of a whim in early lockdown and then preceded not to use it as campervan (the water tank, sink, gas hob and beds had never been used - the mattresses still had the wrapping on!) but as a family vehicle to travel from Newcastle to a holiday home in Cornwall - they covered c.30k miles in the 3 years they owned it.
Optional extras include: Paint: Deep Black Pearl, Wheels: 18" Palmerston, Upholstery: Art Velours (man-made suede and leather combination), Navigation/Audio: Discover Media Pro with Wireless/Wired CarPlay, Flooring: Wooden with Plastic Lining, Suspension: Dynamic Chassis Control with Drive Select (factory lowered by 10mm and provides options for more comfort or less body roll compared to standard), Driver Assistance: Active Lane Assist, Powered, Heated & Folding Mirrors, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Change Assist, Front Collision Warning with Autonomous Braking, Hill Start Assist/Descent Control, Trailer Assist (with Towbar), Rear View Camera, Front & Rear Parking Sensors, Power Sliding Door, Lights & Vision Pack, Double Glazing in Rear, Digital Cockpit & Luggage Compartment Cover.
Additionally, we got two retrofits: 1) a fully-removable solar system (solarcampersolutions), comprising two panels mounted on the roof rails (no holes drilled in the body of the vehicle - cable enters through rubber gasket) which comes with a Victron Bluetooth controlled charger interface. 2) Panasonic front and rear dashcam system, primarily to get a high-level rear-view camera (mounted on the inside) so we could see behind when our towbar-mounted bike rack was fitted.
For servicing, owners can choose standard (yearly) or long-life (every two years), the first service was at 15 months and then yearly - everything has been done on time including the Haldex and brake fluid services. The next service is due in July but, depending on the deal, I'm happy to get it done early and perhaps the prospective new owner may wish to ask VW to inspect it at the same time for their peace of mind.
The warranty expires in July but can be extended for 2 years under the VW 'all-in-one' which provides 2 services, 2 MOT's, 2 years roadside assistance and a zero excess warranty for £810 or £33.75/month.
