Kitchen on New California Beach

Hi, hope everyone is well!

Just a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with please? Does anyone know how easy it is to remove the kicthen unit from the rear of the New California Beach?

If you mean the Multivan one then it is fixed in place. No doubt it can be removed if you are handy enough with the tools but it isn't intended to be removed and reinstalled.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, looking at the Multivan based one. Not so handy if it can’t easily be removed really as you loose the flexibility it may have if it were designed to be taken out. Thanks again.

Is it bolted into the floor rails?

Edit: it looks like it forms part of the bed base, so if removing the kitchen box it will likely affect the ability to sleep downstairs.

Early reports showed a Multivan Beach Camper and Beach Tour, but presume the Tour (with no kitchen) never happened or made it to the UK?!?

Any update information on this.
I use our current 2021 Beach all the time for surfing. Boards slide down the side storage boxes. The rear has other stuff, dogs etc.
ie I don't want half the rear taken up my a kitchen I'll not day to day want.

I'm quite happy that this means when I've taken out the kitchen, I won't be able to make downstairs into a bed. I just want to know that you can take the kitchen and other rear shelving out of the downstairs for day to day use.

From this tread, the implication is that the T7 Beach rear kitchen unit houses a chunk of electrics. So can’t be removed without removing the electric hookup and inverter which is probably wired to the van so it can be charged from the engine.
- I hope this isn't the case.

Buying T7 California Beach Camper

I spoke to a number of dealers, all pretty good and got offered various discounts - mixture of VW incentive and additional dealer discount, some close to DTD. I got mine from Swansway, ordered it last Thur afternoon via email, exceptional service, good discount, they pulled the car from VW port...

This has confused me a lot so I went to look today and it seems in Europe we can buy a beach without any kitchen, in fact I couldn’t find an example with a kitchen.

I didn’t get any indication of a downstairs bed in the van without a kitchen but seen a few examples of rear bed options from people like Vanessa Mobile Camping.

Not much help to UK peeps but interesting to anyone shopping LHD.

A kitchen of sorts needs to be a permanent fixture for a vehicle to be registered as a camper. This is why the T6.1 Beach camper came with the little burner while the T7 model Beach Camper has the permanent kitchen unit eating away at the storage space. With the camper registration you pay approximately €2000 less in taxes on purchase and have lower yearly registration fees.

The 2 other Beach variations without the kitchen are not campers within the above designation but come with the pop-top/upper bed. The 6 seater doesn't have the lower bed but the 5 seater does.

Note also that the Hybrid 4Motion has 1 less seating capacity than the corresponding 2WD options.
