Snorkel RocaSilva Paco has already created a snorkel for our VW T5 And T6!!!

They have exceeded my expectations by far.

To be honest, I don't get this.
IMO, a snorkel is something that looks nice on an off-road car, why try to hide it (and fail at that at the same time..) ? Seikel's snorkel looks a lot better.
But taste differs..

The standard air intake height is very respectable and much higher than most vehicles, wading any deeper will create other problems, so if its just a style add-on, it is stylish for a snorkel...

They have been snorkeling for 20 years.
Do not need cyclonic filter for the design of the piece, much air enters and no dust sand or water.

I'll tell you in time.

I'm going for the Reulleum design solution. 195 euro cannot be beaten..
If I'd need a VW approved real snorkel (certificate of no objection), I'd go for Seikel. Looks 1000x better than this RocaSilva thing as well IMO.

I like it, much more so than an 'orrible cheap looking black plastic job, but I would be concerned about the effect of water on many other systems long before the air intake on a standard T6 was flooded.

As I've yet to see anyone drive a T4/5/6 through anything like enough water to merit a snorkel, and I have no intention of doing so with mine, I dare say much of the discussion is immaterial and the choice very much subjective based on blinging yer wagon.

I had a snorkel on my Landy, forded many rivers, etc, but probably never got it to the point where it would have worried the standard intake. I would guess that the T6 would flounder in less than the Towrag could manage, regardless of breathing problems:

Either way, the most I ever expect to encounter is wheel-high wading:

If the op regularly drives in very dusty areas then this snorkel may reduce the level of dust getting to the standard air filter and be very useful. It's not just water they keep out. Although i would never need one it is good to see a different take on the usual Black plastic job.

Correct.

If the one passes from the bonnet, is lost, carrying a constant speed and if the river is not very deep, it is not necessary.
I'm going to Morocco in 10 days, with dust if necessary.

Take a new air filter element with you and change it for the journey home.
Also change the pollen filter if you have one.

We got stuck in a Toyota pickup in the middle of a flooding river in the Panamanian rain forest some years back. It didn't take long for the water to seep through the door seals and give us very wet feet :Depressed

In the end we had to get out and wade to the bank. Couldn't get any wetter. It took a further 2 hours to get the pickup onto dryish land.

Snorkels and winches tend to make you braver when really you should be thinking about a better way to get across.

Does help a bit with the dust but you still need to bang out the air filter every few days.

I've done Morocco 4 times now and absolutely love the place!

Hey Forote, when are you planning to do Morocco

Talking about wading. The video gets interesting as from 7:00 onwards. Don´t think you need a snorkel for this though
