Sounds like a great plan! When are you going? My experiences with Croatia are May&June is a great time to go, July and August - book ahead.

This one sounds nice: https://www.camping-monperin.hr/

Look forward to hear where you‘re going!

Looks like it fits the bill. Good find.
End of June we’re heading there via Austria.

You might be lucky. My recollection from 2016 of the west coast was that there were some horrors, large sites and heaving.

I stayed here at the tip which wasn't too bad:

and on the east coast and generally I thought the east coast nicer:

Anywhere is nice after a hot day's driving and with a couple of Karlovackos or Ozujskos having quenched the thirst.

I also went to Istria about 15 years ago. Travelled around more and inland. Loved it. Great walking and hilltop villages.

Camp Ulika near Rovinj, we stayed there September 2014.
Cracking small campsite, with a great restaurant (think more along the lines of a great Restaurant with a small campsite attatched).
Camping pitches are partly shaded in amongst trees, great toilets and shower block, small swimming pool.
About 10 mins walk through a large campsite, think it was called Camping Polari to get to the sea. No sandy beaches along this part of the coast, lots of nice grassed areas and access into the sea from the rocks. Cycle paths to other areas as well as to Rovinj.
We hated the look of the large Croatian campsites, so we booked this one well ahead.
One of the best campsites that we've ever stayed at and we've stayed at many!
