Thinking of getting some second hand T6 wheels (2019 - but been off the can since 2022) look in excellent condition and tyres have really good life - tread looks deep - but I’m not sure if I’m being ripped off - never bought wheels before - what would people estimate maybe a reasonable price to pay?

They are 235 55 zr17 103W - if that means anything to anyone

I would say it depends upon which wheels they are and their condition and which tyres (incl brand and age and miles covered) they are :)

Delivery mileage VW 17” wheels/tyres seem to sell at around £500 - £600.
Assuming the tyres are 6 years old, this could half the price .

Really helpful cheers - he was asking £200 - only really 3 years old as he had ones wheels fitted in 2022 and they sat in his garage ever since

They are in excellent condition -?think they were Dunlop tyres - no idea on miles covered they have been in his garage since 2022 - good tread depth on em though

As regards tyres, check date of manufacture on sidewall. Tyres, even though tread still very good have a ‘life expectancy’ and may suffer ‘cracking’ deterioration.

Tyre age can be found on the sidewall as part of the DOT code.

You don't say which wheel type/model is being offered but if all as you say £200 sounds a very good price.

Useful info on tyre aging

this might sound silly, but not knowing what wheels they are, just make sure that they are compatible with your California. It's a T6 150 4 Motion ??

I don’t think you can go wrong for £200, regardless of which T6 wheels they are. I paid £550 for a brand new set of Devonports on here about 4 years ago. The 235 Bridgestone tyres were not great though.

Second that. If the alloy wheels look good and the sharp edges of the spokes as it changes from the side that you see to the inside face of the wheel show no corrosion/blistering under the paint then they are a steal even if they had no tyres.
Getting an alloy wheel renovated by powder coating is about £70 to £80 each wheel.
