2009 T5 SE Seat Cover fitting

Good afternoon.

We ordered some covers from seatcovers.de which we have substantially fitted, and they look good, apart from the driver's and passenger's seat squabs or cushions. Try as I might, I can't get the bungees supplied to meet and fit without removal of the squabs, owing to the quantity of gubbins under the seat, so we have 'loose covers' at the moment!

Can someone please advise how the seat squabs are removed, in order to fit the covers correctly, or am I just missing something, being new to this camper-van malarkey?
