Perhaps not a populair opinion, but I feel the Northcape is more of a philosophical/emotional destination (as the endpoint/half way point of a trip) then an especially lovely one. There's so many much more beautiful things to see in Norway.
I dare to say that you would perhaps feel disappointed, but only 'cause it's a goal in your mind. If you'd go you might feel that you could have skipped it. I'd base my route on things you feel you really want to see, which might allow you to skip it and spend time on other places. But, as said, perhaps not a populair opinion.
