Folks, I'm looking for a new set of wheels for my 6.1 California. Today I have the factory default 16" but even from new, I never thought they filled the arches properly. Now my tyres are worn out, so it's time to change the wheels at the same time as the tyre change. I want to nod back to the original steel wheels that were fitted to the Transporter, so I'm looking for something like a Porsche telephone dial, or an Alfa pepperpot or something similar, in alloy, 17 inch (so I don't need to worry about the speedometer) and in silver colour (not chrome).

Has anyone seen anything like this, preferably new but second hand would work too? I found a few, but either sold already or in black.

Thanks in advance...

Not seen anything like the pepper pot you're after (for a transporter ) - remember they need to be appropriately load rated for the van !

16" alloys will run 65 profile tyres
17" will run 55 profile etc

The Actual overall diameter of the tyre will (should ) not increase / decrease simply because the size of the wheel increases.
With each 1 inch increase the tyre wall decreases proportionally so the tyre's diameter stay the same & the Speedo stays accurate.

Basically tyre wall height decreases with increase of rim size.

Hope that makes sense.

Please ensure the wheel is load rated sufficient for the Van

235/60R17 will fit perfectly and even the KMH or MPH will still be correct on the dashboard (compared to GPS Speed)

@Habokjes Are the insides of those delta rims easy to clean? They look great
Got them 3 weeks ago and the weather has been very bad, the last 3 weekends we spent many time on dirt and sandy roads. Both the van and the tires are pretty dirty. Did not had a change to clean them yet. Did clean them after installation and to get rid of the blue protective layer over the white markings, with a brush and gardenhose this was no hassle. They look great and drive nice to, fuel consumption is kind of the same as before and it feels a bit more stable, must be because of the rugged sidewalls.

I’d double check they actually supply official load certification from the manufacturer as opposed to a banner on the website stating the fact.
