I had one of my California's come back from a week hire today, and the hirers had noted the following faults and wondered if anyone had come accross them, as I haven't before. Obviously it's being booked into SMG this week to be looked at.

The fridge turns off when the van is hooked up to the electrics

And the top panel beeps when driving, and says to check the instrument display or something similar - the airbag light has also come on, so not sure if this is linked?

Cheers in advance :D

Do they do this if the roof is not fully down ?? Moved mine a couple of metres on a campsite with roof up & it beeped whilst I moved.

the airbag light has also come on

Was a thread talking about this, the cable maybe too tight & when passenger seat is rotated it can start to come unplugged. Even if the connection is made good you will still get error till it is cleared with computer. I get this error at present.

Has the ambient temp been set up on the control panel display?. For some reason it doesn't like to be set on ambient whilst driving, conflicts with the instrument panel temp.
After stopping on site, when it comes to starting the engine, I get a warning and have to change the display to battery status.
This was also the case with my previous Cali. First time this happened it took me a while to understand what the warning message was.

The one touch facility on the drivers window has also stopped, if I recall correctly. :hello

That's normally a simple fix. :thumb

Lower the window all the way down and hold the button pressed for around 3 - 5 seconds, fully raise the window and again hold the button pressed for around 3 - 5 seconds.

Hi Stu

How on earth do you know that?!?....Is your brain connected to VW central? :thumb <--- That was my first ever forum smilie. I may need a lie down.

Anywhooooo

On a related subject. Is there a way to get one touch on the passenger side? It feels like a mod worth doing.

:laugh2

I've owned too many VAG cars, that's why I'm so poor :boohoo

You can actually do it with the key. Put the the key in the drivers door lock and turn it as if to open, all windows will open and likewise turn it as if to close and all windows will rise.

Having never really spent any time in the passenger side I truly hadn't realised it wasn't one touch :rofl

One touch from the drivers side though - yes??

Are you ganging up on me????? :rofl

Sut...Nothing but love for you buddy honest :thumb

So...the passenger window is one touch from the drivers button but single touch from the passenger seat. Like you I don't spend much time on that side but I know it is an source of annoyance for Mrs B

I would need to test to be sure Michael.

I'm sure it doesn't do to annoy Mrs B.

NS window it not one touch from NS door switch on my 2011 Cali, just checked.
Tried switching it on like Stu said in an earlier post & it does not work.

I tested mine this morning and it's not one touch from the passenger side.

You're very welcome.
Even after three and half years of California ownership, there's still plenty to learn about these vehicles.
Enjoy the German Grand Prix, would love to be going myself but have only just returned from a five week tour of Germany.
