1,100 feet up on Standedge moor, a bitter NE wind blowing, and last night minus 7.

I had the heating on setting two, top bed down (sleeping lower bed) roller shutter vent wide open, tog 4 duvet and woke up too warm.

Cali class act.

Great stuff ! Is it your sister next to you in the caravan ?
Would be nice to see a picture with the two attached to eachother :thumb

Freezing here too. What do you do guys do with the water in the van?

Looks fab!

Roller shutter vent?? Are you referring to the roller blind above the driver that blocks off the roof when it's down?

Yes.

With the top bed down you need minimal heat on to warm the lower bedroom but it is also essential to keep an airflow unless you like waking up with a monstrous headache and the walls streaming with water.

It is indeed Jo's caravan. Our maiden voyage together. 4 days travelling to see Mum and getting back.
Pics to follow :D

When in France last week it was about -3 and we slept downstairs. My husband is a heat freak and I am 52 - naturally always dripping with sweat. We started off with the heater on but I thought I was going to explode. I turned it off at about 2am and husband woke up freezing at 4, so I had to put it on again. Perhaps I should sleep upstairs and him down! Not very cuddly though ...

So did they make you have two pitches or was that your choice Jen. By the way the van looks stunning in the two tone!

My decision. I'm really not prepared to haggle for £10 a night or so.

Strangely the argument went the other way last night :D We stopped over at the Cross Keys, Pulloxhill, near Bedford. Owner said "you only owe me £10".... "No" I said, there's two units, booked as two units and you can only have 5 max, so fair's fair..." ...

We then had a great meal, it was really good, nice wine.... and when we got the bill we found that our first drinks of the night were "on the house"....:)

Wow that is a cheap site!

Wow that is a cheap site!

£10 a night at this time of year is not cheap:shocked

I expect them to be paying me to stop ....

Seriously the caravan club has deals on at the moment that means full facilities, heated shower rooms, great hard standings .... for as little as £8.50 a night per unit. I had nothing but a walk over a boggy field to get water and a crappy smelly "dirt trap on a rope" to empty a caravan waste tank down.

If only the Caravan Club had a pub with grub on every site. :cheers

Just imagine if the sites were all attached to vineyards :Grin
