Ready to pull the trigger on a 2022 T6.1 with Locking Rear Diff (1Y4). There are a few to choose from, but the ones I like come with 18" rims.

One of my goals it to not raise the overall height of the van, so I can still squeeze in below 2.0m barriers/obstacles. BFG and the others don't seem to make an All Terrain 255/45 R18 tire, or anything similar. General Grabbers 255/55 R18 are taller and (from quick research) seem to rub.

Seems odd to deliver new vans outfitted with Locking Rear Differential and not put a rim on it that's conducive to stock AT Tires.... UGH!!

Do I have to invest in 16" or 17" rims, or is there a 18" version I'm missing?

I had 18's and dropped down to 17's instead with Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus tires in 235/65R17. The 18's worked with 255/55R18 but the noise started to get worse as the tires wore. I've been very pleased with the Pirelli's so far and this seems to be the route many are taking now here in Switzerland if they don't want the beefy BFG's.

Is your car lifted? What is your fuel consumption with these tires?

I’ve not looked to see what AT tyre options are available but another 18” size that works is 235/55/18.
After reading lots of posts and getting advice from a few seasoned members, I’ve just changed from the standard summer 255/45/18 tyres that came with my T6.1 to 235/55/18 all season tyres

I too went for 235/55r18 for my 4motion Cali (T5-2008). Not many options at that size. mine are General Grabber AT3. Higher profile gives a bit more ‘bounce‘ which I don’t mind. I have standard suspension.

Could you use the same wheels ? What about sharp turns, will it rub ?
