Alternator replacement issue

I am currently in Spain in my t4 California coach hightop. The alternator has quit and all available replacements have a extended pulley that doesn't align with the engine pulley. Anyone had this issue. Engine is the 2.4 litre naturally aspirated diesel

Have you tried getting the original alternator reconditioned locally? Or swapping parts from the old one to the new one. I assume the centre shaft is longer not just the pulley wheel or you could just swop the wheels over? No experience of your model, just alternators in general. Swopped many a part over, including chassis and pulleys.
