Just trying to flip it with all the lowering threads flying about at the moment i thought it maybe nice to see if anyone has raised their cali from standard height or raised it back up from it being lowered at some point ..... whether it's for ride issues preferred looks or because it needs to be higher due to ground clearance drop a post on .. :thumb
Has raising the cali opened up the accessories buying list .. :?: :?: with step ups ,side steps mini ladders and different tyre and wheel choices and as you know i like a winch, belly pan maybe a snorkel a nudge bar for that green lane driving and pond dodging or maybe a spot light or 2 for those dark nights returning to the campsite ... .....
Throw in some links ,photo's or views, as i know you will have some :bananadance

Re: Anyone raised their "Cali" ..????

Oh just thought CB radio & whip antenna ;-) ....
They seem to be popular again and legal to use while driving ,as loads of my local Vw club members have them ..great for cruises meets etc :)

I think an offroad biased, raised 4motion would be ace. Our last vehicle was a Defender; side bars, bash plates, all sorts!

The Cali does need some underside protection; I had a good look at it up on the ramp and there are a few vulnerable areas; the rear is also too low. We catch the mudflaps on almost anything!

I am not sure about the Cali Lee

As you know outside of the UK 4 Motion is just the start for a T5 - there are options to raise as well as lower your T5. You've seen the Rocktons!

But even your basic Transporter Van 4 Motion be raised. I also believe that the underside protection previously not available in the UK now is.

In Grmany VW offer different packages. Of course of you are talking non VW that's interesting.

My employer has used this company in Germany to build some specialised trucks. http://www.achleitner.com/de/

I was last over there a couple of years ago. At the time, they had a yard full of jacked up T5's on steroids. I'm not sure who they were for but they had 4x4 and full armour!

They don't appear to have the T5 stuff on their website anymore - looks like they are just doing the Crafter now but, if anyone has any desire to up-armour or harden their van they are the people to call. Extremely capable!

There must be 1 member that has full 4x4 their cali in the club ... :?: :?: :?:

Our Cali replaced this:

Also had the incredibly underrated Jimny before it and used to be a Geotech Engineer so did an awful lot of serious off roading to access sites.

All great fun!

We have a land rover ,but someone in the UK must have made their "Cali" more manly and on steroids ..!???

Spotted this on a campsite recently subtly raised and on oversize wheels and tyres.

Note: no Calis were harmed in the making of this very poor photoshop effort..

I had intended to use our Jimny as my daily runaround

But ended up adding another truck to the fleet! Without a doubt the most flexible car I've owned.

I will shout if I see any; I'm tempted to tweak ours a little; bash guards for starters.

Great big ones? Down both sides? ;)
