Avoiding trapping the roof bellows when lowering roof

I know that a few folk have damaged their bellows when lowering the roof. I know that a bungee type solution is available ...

But using my roof this weekend, I just popped my head through the sliding hatch to see how the bellows were folding as the roof was lowered. If you stand between the two front seats when you lower the roof, it is perfectly easy to do . You can then see if the long edges of the bellows are folding in properly, and if not, a gentle tug corrects the situation. Once they are folding in, I suspect the sewn-in bits of plastic will keep them folding in

You can check this a couple of times as the roof is lowering, or even pause the lowering then take a peek.

Is this perhaps the simplest, lowest cost, most environmentally friendly, minimalist solution to this vexed subject ?

That is the advise most of us have been given and practise PLUS keeping some of the doors open :clap
